5 Simple Things To Avoid Getting a Cold or Flu

sambucolusa.com/store

It’s upon us! Cold and flu season is in full swing again! Whenever I start to see my friends catching all the “bugs”, I do a little extra to keep my immune system strong so I don’t succumb. I do everything I can to avoid getting a cold or flu. If I do end up catching something, being at my best will also help me get through it quicker!

Keep it Clean

When we are in places or using things that can get germy (gyms, phones, keyboards, planes, etc.) use a cleansing wipe to clean areas you will be touching. It’s also a good idea to avoid touching your nose and mouth. Germs spreading from your hands are one of the quickest ways to catch a cold or flu!

Black Elderberry Goodness

I use Black Elderberry syrup year round to keep my immune system strong. It’s a powerful antioxidant that promotes healthy immune function so it’s a great preventative before you get sick. If you catch something, research shows that elderberry is a powerful anti-viral and can help fight colds and flu which are viruses. People recovered an average of four days sooner when taking Black Elderberry. There are several brands and products that make use of black elderberry, but the only one I have tried and can attest to is Sambucol Black Elderberry. Sambucol is great to take before you get sick or to get well quickly, and I love the taste!

Cacao is raw chocolate that is a superfood. Real Health Superfoods Cacao has more nutrients and antioxidants because it hasn’t been processed! It has 30 times more antioxidants than blueberries. Use it in a smoothie, make a mousse or sugar-free desert. It’s a yummy way to keep healthy!

Get a Rub Down

In addition to reducing stress and soothing aches and pains, massages increase circulation. This helps provide more oxygen to the blood and support our bodies own ways to fight germs. Massages also help with lymphatic drainage, so it really is therapeutic!

Sweat it Out

If your gym has a steam room of sauna, a quick sweat session will help rid your body of toxins. Great for cold and flu season or even a late night. Even a good steam in the shower at home with a few drops of eucalyptus oil will keep sinuses clear. This is always an incredible pick me up!
