How Often Does the Average Couple Argue? The Results May Surprise You.

If you’re like most couples, you’ve had your share of arguments over the years. But how many arguments are considered average?

According to a recent survey conducted by Esure, couples argue a whopping 2,455 times a year!

That’s right, couples bicker up to seven times a day with their sex life causing up towards 87 arguments a year. What are the other issues that cause griping? Money, driving too fast, snoring, what to eat for dinner, and laziness are common complaints.

Nikki Sellers, head of home insurance at Esure said, “The fact of the matter is that bickering on a daily basis is all part of being in a normal, healthy relationship.”

Another issue that caused lovers tiffs included not saying “I love you” enough which constituted for 67 arguments a year! And perhaps not surprisingly, overspending, not listening, and disciplining the children ranked high. But other, less expected, issues caused arguments such as walking past things that need to go upstairs, what to watch on television, and treading mud into the house!

A lot of these arguments are minor, and many can easily be avoided. As long as you remember to respect your partner and listen to each other, you’re bound to be doing better than most! Say please, thank you, and maybe also clean the kitchen on occasion.
