Start Your Day Off With Epic Beats, Dancing and Awesome DJs

When I was invited to the first year anniversary of Daybreaker I asked myself, “What is that?” I was told it was going to be a party on a boat from 6:30 to 8:30 in the morning.”Hmm, that sounds interesting”, I thought. Since I’ve been really busy lately and I don’t have much time to work out, I found this very intriguing.

I used to be a professional dancer, so I’m always trying to find motivation to work out again.Since I’m a morning person, I thought what better way to exercise than watching the sunrise while dancing on a boat in Marina Del Rey, California.

That morning was very hard for me to get up since I worked late the night before and I had even broken my tooth! So I was questioning if I should go or not. But I remembered Daybreaker happens only once a month. And this time it was on a boat only because it was their first anniversary. This got me out of bed and, sure enough, I drove down the 405 freeway at 5:30 a.m.
in hopes for an adventure.

As I arrived, I was amazed by how many people were already standing in line. Perhaps a few hundred were already there! I got really interested. Among others, I saw fitness enthusiasts, people dressed as pirates, hipsters and first timers like myself. I was pleasantly surprised by a nice, warm welcome and a happy atmosphere so early in the morning. No one was cranky and everyone was excited to dance the morning away.

As we were boarding I ran into Steven and Nick, two good-looking guys who were here for the first time as well. We immediately hit it off and since I was by myself we decided to hang out for the event. Food and drinks were served complimentary on the boat before the DJ started spinning. Once he began, the whole boat turned into a big dance club! I had an amazing time dancing to the sunrise and making friends with other early birds.

Two hours went by in no time and I only wished the dancing would continue. The DJ was off the hook! It was like being at Coachella, Burning Man, the most amazing rave and aerobics all at the same time. The Downtown Horns played live music and Prism Entertainment was on hand to show the latest dance moves! Everyone was positive, uplifting and happy! I believe the key to starting the day off right is with positive energy. Remember, the way you start off the day is the way it will be.

I can’t wait to go back! And I hope one day it will be on a boat again.
