Visiting as a Vegan/Vegetarian in Winnipeg, Manitoba

Prev1 of 8

“Canada is cold.”

If you mention your upcoming Canadian vacation to your family and friends, you will have to face this phrase over and over again. For most of Canada, many southern cities have four seasons, just like the U.S. cities with which we’re all familiar. But for Winnipeg….it’s a bit of a different story. Its nickname is “Winterpeg” after all. We went in June and it we still endured flash rainstorms amidst high humidity and mild heat.

Despite all of the interesting weather conditions, Winnipeg is a unique, charming, and evolving city full of different personalities, style preferences, and dietary preferences. From the chic Exchange District with its booming bar scene and historic architecture, to the young, bohemian, and versatile Osborne Street with its vintage clothing and hipster food scene, Winnipeg has something for everyone, especially for open-minded travelers.

WHERE TO EAT

Nuburger

Vegetarian

Who knew that the best veggie burger in Canada could be found in Winnipeg? Now you know! This burger joint might not only serve vegan and vegetarian burgers, but their veggie burgers don’t suffer due to the variety. They have four veggie burgers on the menu, which you can easily veganize. We HIGHLY recommend you try The Unburger, and load up on all of their Dollar Dips, such as Roasted Pep ‘N’ Basil Aioli, Truffle Aioli, and Rosemary Garlic Aioli.
