It’s hard to predict everything that can go wrong, but we can do our best to avoid any slip-ups (literally!). We’re put together a few tips on how to avoid the most common malfunctions out there. With our help you can avoid being remembered only for your unfortunate fashion fails!
The Nip Slip
It’s a tricky one to avoid. The truth is, most stylish and beautiful dresses are prone to causing one. It’s hard to rock the side boob without giving a bit too much boob away. Luckily for us, there are a few precautions you can take to avoid this slip up.
The most common is to wear a nipple coverup. There are tons of these on the market. These sticky flesh-toned circles can just be stuck on to your nipples to help them blend into your boobs and give the illusion of no nipples. This is a safe bet, but if you don’t want a nipple-cover-slip then the alternative is to use fashion tape. Double-sided fashion tape works to hold the fabric where you want it to stay.
VPL
Another dreaded wardrobe malfunction is the visible panty line. If you’re rocking any thin fabric like silk, this is a guaranteed side effect. Again, the odds are in our favor. Any lingerie or underwear department has tons of NVPL (non-visible-panty-line) underwear for you to try. The trick is for them to be seamless. Silky, lightweight fabrics that cling to your skin can completely eradicate any visible panty lines.
Too Sheer?
Almost transparent fabrics are very on trend, and we love how they look! The sheer fabrics look beautiful on, but it can be very daunting in terms of showing too much. Your best option is to find a slip dress that is an almost identical match to your skin tone. ALWAYS make sure to pair any sheer fabric with a nude slip dress- trust us, you won’t regret it!
Static Cling
We’ve all experienced it, and we’ve heard tons of solutions to avoid any static cling with silk fabrics. Well, we’re here to give you the easiest method we’ve heard yet. You probably have one lying on your vanity, so it’s time to find another use for your…hairspray! Spraying the inside of the fabric with hairspray is the easiest and most reliable way to avoid static at all costs.
Now that we’ve armed you with the best fashion tips and tricks, go ahead and rock your most daring dresses and sheer blouses without fear of overexposure.
