Legendary Actress Rita Moreno Wore Her Dress from 1962 to THIS YEAR’S Oscars!

Rita Moreno looked stunning in a vintage gown with a very special past at the Oscars last night!

Last night, the 90th Academy Awards were held at the Dolby Theater in Los Angeles, California. Hosted by Jimmy Kimmel, this was a night for Hollywood to shine and the stars certainly came out to impress. One of the most glamorous attendees on the red carpet was veteran actress Rita Moreno!

Rita was a presenter last night and decided to wear a piece of her own Oscar history! She actually wore the same dress she had when she accepted the award for Best Supporting Actress for her role in “West Side Story”!

And today at 86 years young, she looked as stunning as she did back in 1962! Her daughter, Fernanda Gordon, said at the Oscar rehearsals on Saturday, “She bought the fabric herself and had an architect make it.” The dress features a halter-neck and a lovely gold patterned skirt.
It is sleeveless and back in 1962, Rita accessorized it with black opera gloves when she accepted her award. Last night, she chose to pair her vintage gown with long black gloves, black and gold jewelry, and a matching black headband. And surprisingly, even though this gown is over 50 years old, it looked brand new!

On February 27th, she took to social media to give her fans a hint as to what she would be wearing to the Oscars. She said, “Wait till you see what I’m wearing!!!”

Not only has Rita won an Academy Award, she has also won an Emmy, Grammy, and Tony Award, also know as the coveted EGOT. In fact, she is the only Latin artist to ever do so! To top it off, she is also a Presidential Medal of Freedom Award winner. Ladies, if you’re looking for a new role model, Rita is a great choice!
