How To Retain A Youthful Look Well Into Your Thirties: Tips And Tricks

You can retain a youthful appearance well into the thirties. How? Your twenties are when you can really take advantage of your natural beauty and youthful skin, but in your thirties, it becomes increasingly important to start investing in some anti-ageing products like retinol, peptides, serums and more. There’s no better time than now to find the right skincare routine for you!

Cosmetic Procedures

Cosmetic procedures are, unfortunately, one of the most common ways to try and retain a youthful look. Although they can be extremely effective for some – think neck liposuction or eyelid surgery – not everyone is willing (or able) to go through that kind of drastic change. However, there are other milder options like Botox injections, chemical peels and laser hair removal – all of which can make a world of difference for your skin. There are also different types of facelifts you can try, depending on the severity of your skin’s ageing. These types of treatments are surgical and require proper time for recovery and rejuvenation.

A Youthful Diet

Your diet is crucial to contain your skin’s ageing process, particularly the effects of oxidative damage from free radicals. What you eat greatly determines how well your body can handle those free radicals by producing antioxidants that neutralize them, as well as giving you a healthy, glowing appearance. For instance, antioxidant-rich foods like blueberries and resveratrol help protect collagen from degenerating further. These same foods also have anti-inflammatory properties which reduce the immediate signs of wrinkles and fine lines on your face by reducing redness and puffiness under the eyes. Make sure to drink plenty of water every day to ensure a hydrated complexion as well! The same goes with exercise – it’s always a good idea to get at least 30 minutes of exercise a day.

Choosing the Right Skincare Routine

Your twenties are when you can really take advantage of your natural beauty and youthful skin, but in your thirties, it becomes increasingly important to start investing in some anti-ageing products like retinol, peptides, serums, and more. There’s no better time than now to find the right skincare routine for you! Basically, finding a skincare routine that works for you is all about trial and error. During your 20s is when you have the freedom to just try stuff out since skin isn’t as sensitive yet – so do some research on different products until you find one that delivers what your skin needs! We know it might be difficult during this period of your life because there are tons of other things demanding your attention, but with enough patience and effort, you can find something suitable in no time!

Retinol and Peptides

A common misconception is that retinol (a form of vitamin A) is harmful to our skin – but this simply isn’t true! Retinol is not only one of the most effective options against anti-ageing, it’s also safe to use. And peptides are basically like peptides for your face – they help prevent collagen breakdown in your skin cells which could be leading to sagging or wrinkles (and yes, you should still be using SPF). Niacinamide is another supplement being used instead of retinol because it’s less sensitizing to sensitive types – so talk with your dermatologist about whether it’d be better for your skin.

Cleanser and Moisturizer

Although this is so obvious, it’s also important to remember that the quality of your cleanser and moisturiser affects the condition of your skin in a big way too! Choose cleansers and moisturisers designed for older skin types (and with sunscreen) to see changes in your skin’s appearance. The best thing about finding the perfect cleanser and moisturizer combo? You don’t have to spend much time thinking about what you’ve got on since it’ll do its work without much effort from you. That means you can focus more on other things like taking care of yourself, spending time with loved ones, or even pursuing hobbies outside of work!

Sun Protection

Of course, no anti-ageing routine is complete without the protection of sunscreen! This particular product has been proven to prevent signs of ageing and should be used by everyone regardless of their age. The damage caused by the sun’s UV rays and environmental factors causes free radicals that lead to fine lines and wrinkles as well as dullness and discolouration. Check your labels for a broad-spectrum sunscreen with at least SPF 30 or higher which contains antioxidants like Vitamin C or Vitamin E (to make the skin more resistant against future damages) to help reduce any existing damage done.

  • Save

Ageing is inevitable but it doesn’t make you any less beautiful! Although the earlier years may be difficult for finding suitable skincare products, the pay-off of great skin lasts much longer than having to spend a ton of money on skincare at this age. Investing in your skincare routine early on helps maintain youthful skin for decades – so there’s really no better time to start taking care of yourself!
